Maple Grilling Planks by Nature's Cuisine, Set of Four Discover the flavorful world of plank grilling. A delicious mingling of aromatic Western Maple wood and natural moisture gives fish, meat, poultry, and vegetables a more distinctive smoky succulence and appealing fresh flavor. Western Maple, also known as Big Leaf or Pacific Coast Maple, grilling planks offer a modern grilling method that conveniently lends a tantalizing sweet buttery flavor with a mild smoky layering. Although maple sugar can be obtained from the sap of this variety it is neither as rich nor used as extensively as eastern maple to produce sugar and syrup. It is pale pinkish-brown to almost white in color; characterized by a close, fine grain, which is generally straight, (but sometimes curly grained) with a relatively coarse texture. Maple Plank Grilling will impart a more intense flavor to seafood, salmon, chicken, shrimp, beef and more! Nature's Cuisine Maple Grilling Planks are made from untreated wood that must be soaked for 20 minutes prior to use to add moisture and resist burning while on the grill. Add even more zest to your foods by add dry white wine, apple cider, citrus or berry juice to your soaking liquid. If the plank is charred through, cruble it into bottom of your barbecue and use as smoking chips. If the plank is not completely blistered, you can reuse it. Simply rinse clean with warm, soapy water and let dry. Package contains four 7" x 15" x 3/8" untreated Maple Grilling Planks by Nature's Cuisine for use with all charcoal and gas grills.
